Product Review: Ribbon Weave Necklace
Another amazing product review from one of our wonderful product testers.
Hidden neatly in my Wild Lily Empire parcel surprise was a necklace. Known as the Ribbon Weave, this stunning necklace has become my go-to necklace of the season. Just in time for Christmas and the festivities that occur at the end of the year, my new necklace was the perfect accessory to add to any outfit.
You only need to feel the weight of the necklace to recognise the quality of the materials from which it has been lovingly made. By heavy I don’t mean it will have you battling to stand up straight, I just mean it’s not flimsy-it’s made to last. The silver chains are adorned with black ribbon and beads which drop elegantly around the neck. The black ribbon was initially intertwined between the silver loops but it has since wriggled its way out and now falls on its own. I’m guessing my over-wearage (not a word but how else do I describe it?) is the reason for that. I still think it looks great though so no problems there.
A flat round stone sits on the right and sparkles (from what I’ve determined after an extensive Google search) as a ‘midnight blue’. It’s not the sort of blue that jumps out at you though and makes it impossible to match with what you’re wearing. It’s understated and can really only be seen when the light hits the stone on the right angle.
The Ribbon Weave necklace was the perfect present for an accessory-lover like me. It dresses up any plain outfit (or busy outfit-as you see I’m wearing a floral top in the photos) and sits proudly as the statement necklace it is. So whoever is on your gift list-whether it be a girly girl, a sophisticated business woman, that friend at the cutting edge of fashion or for the girl that’s just too hard to buy for-the Ribbon Weave necklace is a gift I think she’ll be happy with. Once they’re ticked off your list I suggest you treat yourself-it’s a gorgeous necklace that is likely to become your favourite.
A BIG thanks to Wild Lily Empire for treating me to such a special piece!

Product Review: Semi Precious Amazonite Bracelet
One of my most favourite stores in Perth, or Australia for that matter is Wild Lily Empire. They have 3 funky stores in Nedlands, Northbridge and Leederville and an online shop. I have always made an effort to regularly check their Leederville store. I never need anything in particular, but love to check out their ever-changing products. They have everything….cookbooks, lamps, handbags, jewellery, diary’s, kid’s things…if you are ever stuck for an idea; it’s the place to go. So, imagine my joy when Wild Lily Empire announced on their Facebook page that they were looking for product testers. All a potential tester had to do was like their page and express their interest. Timing was everything…I had only just logged onto Facebook as Wild Lily Empire posted this message. Of course, I immediately responded with a “Yes, please!!!”
The day to pick up my little parcel finally came…off we went to Northbridge. This was the first time I had visited the Northbridge store and I really wished I had more time to check it out. It’s so much bigger than the Leederville store and there seemed to be so much more to look at. Sadly, we were in a rush so I had to run in, pick up my parcel and run out.
I could hardly contain my curiosity in the car…I poked and prodded the parcel, but couldn’t open it because I had to take photos of it first. I felt like a little kid at Christmas time! Finally, we arrived at our destination and I managed to get a photo of the beautifully wrapped parcel before impatiently tearing the wrapping off.
Inside was a gorgeous semi-precious amazonite bracelet with a diamante heart charm. I loved it! Of course, I had to try it on then & there. So, I slid it on to my wrist and as I did…the charm fell off :( Oh! I looked at the charm and the link hadn’t been closed properly and there was no way I could get it back on the bracelet and make it stay on. I was so disappointed. All that excitement and now I couldn’t wear the beautiful bracelet in front of me.
I wasn’t put off though…all it needed was a squeeze with some jewellery pliers and it would be ok. Sadly, I was in the middle of packing and moving house when I picked up the bracelet, so it was put somewhere safe for a few weeks while everything was moved and unpacked. We finally unearthed the jewellery pliers and with a little DIY, the bracelet was ready in time for New Year celebrations.
Teamed with a beige dress, purple heels, a couple of other purple bracelets, the diamante heart charm sparkled brightly. A few people even stopped me to ask where I got the ‘gorgeous’ bracelet from.
I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful test product. I love my bracelet and am sure I will get a lot of wear out of it. For the bracelet, despite the fact that I had to do some DIY on it, I give it 4 ½ stars.

Hi Lilies,
Thanks to Jenni’s feedback we have been in touch with the supplier of the bracelet and will make sure that the glitch with the charms is fixed :)

Product Review: Wicked Wix Soy Candle
I am one of the extremely lucky road testers selected by Wild Lily Empire, I was give a Wicked Wix candle to try out…..they are just the most gorgeous of candles and I already have some in my home which I purchased at Perth Upmarket.

Wicked wix candles are soy candles and therefore do not burn with a sooty smoke (fantastic !). The most impressive thing about them is the way they smell……absolutely divine……the perfume is not overpowering but is very true and beautiful……..as another road tester found with another candle, my husband and 8 year old also loved the fragrance……I suspect they are so lovely as they use very good quality essential oils.

I would not hesitate to recommend wicked wix candles as an excellent xmas present for friends and family and i believe they also make one exclusively for men :) what a great idea ! Thankyou Wild Lily Empire for your generosity, I am truly honoured :) xx

serenade organic product review
Last week we gave out a bundle of free products to a lucky group of our facebook friends. The only condition was that they took it for a test run and let us all know what they thought of it.
The lovely Lola Kans received a Serenade Organic Travel Pamper Pack and here is what she had to say:
I was very excited to be selected as one of your Facebook product review posse!! Here is my review:
Was all very excited to head into the Northbridge store and collect my goodie for road testing – also managed to buy myself a stunning scarf whilst I was browsing (which I am wearing as I type). Neatly packaged in convenient travel size was the Serenade Organic Pamper Pack, consisting of 1-Purify Facial Cleanser, 1- Nourish Facial Moisturiser and 1-Restore Eye Cream plus one pint sized scoop.

Purify Facial Cleanser
Jumped in the shower to test this one out on my face and forgot to grab the pint sized scoop, managed to wrangle out a small amount of the cleanser using the back of my nails. The cream was smooth, gentle and not overly fragranced. Left my face feeling soft, supple, refreshed and cleansed. Will definitely use again. I can see the benefit of this being part of a travel kit, as after flight/car ride this would feel deluxe and soothing.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Nourish Facial Moisturiser
Both my mum and I tested this one on our face. She is a beauty product connoisseur these days and loves a new product. Unfortunately this did not leave overly impressed. The product was lovely, not too fragranced as to drown the senses but was a little too thick/heavy as a daily moisturiser. My skin felt like it had a coating compared to a moisturiser which would have been absorbed. Perhaps it would be better as a night time moisturiser. Again, I can see the benefit of it being in a travel pack because after much traveling, when your skin is dehydrated then that extra coating would be a good thing.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Restore Eye Cream
Used this on a Sunday night after an action packed weekend. Went on light and easily, again not too fragranced so as to sting my eyes. Felt lovely and luxurious. Would definitely use again.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Overall, very happy with my product allocation.
Cons: Only one scoop which wandered occasionally when needed. Moisturiser was a bit heavy for my preference.
Pros: Great compact size for travelling. Loved the eye cream and cleanser.
